Homework distraction

This bird feeder is stationed right outside our dining room window.

Our dining room is not our dining room, but rather the place where the official dining room table sits.
The "dining room" is my art room, my art room is not the dining room.
Are you still with me???
Okay well see in the photo below, the room through the doorway is the not dining room art room.

and this one is the not dining room either but is the dining room though.

I am so glad I cleared that up for you.
Anyway right out that window where you see the tulips (on the dining room table, not in the dining room and not used only for dining but also for homework) is where the bird feeder is perched.

This guy came swooping in right in the middle of a very serious multiplication problem.

Thus the distraction. Do you see the blur of the tiny seeds flying?
Look closely above.

He would quickly toss out the smaller seeds in favor of the larger goodies.

Here is his official portrait.

He had a wee friend waiting for his exit.

And, a rather dull fellow watching his every move.

We did get the math done, but not until after a picture taking break!

Week 35 good to wow

Okay folks, here is my week 35 entry into the Good to WOW pool for this Monday.

The theme is Back to School
Our prep for BTS definitely involves updating the prescription on my youngest eyeballs.

Ahhhhh ha haha, yes I did take my big old camera into the eye doctors office!!

I have no plans for what I will do with this...guess you are just gonna have to come back on Thursday and see!!

As for me...I have just go to go and see what everyone else is up to this week!!

Hey wait...

Before you go.

How about just ONE shot for you from my engagement session!!

(Grinning widely as I drop it below)
We live in Texas y'all.

I learned so much about myself during this shoot.
I hope I have time this week to share that with you!

Okay, since you twisted my arm I will give you one more...ahhhh so many I loved it is hard to choose.

See ya tomorrow!!

The Hunt!

Okay, I took a few of these new, but had to go to the archives for a couple as well.

I was quite busy yesterday and today and am so anxious to share my engagement session with you, but it must be put off...because, come on...it is Scavenger Hunt Sunday!!!

Here is my take on these five things this week.

1. Stairs

An oldie but a goodie!

2. Macro

This isn't a "true" macro, but it will have to pass as I don't have a lens that will get closer.
This is as macro as it gets around here.

3. Clouds

This was taken from the plane and I love the dual clouds...real and shadows.

4. Abstract

I am sooooo a realist. Abstract...blech!

5. Smile

You know how each week I think I know what the prompt is and get an idea in my mind about it only to find out what the real prompt is.
Well, I wouldn't want to disappoint you this week.
I had in my mind the word grin; thereby the above picture would be perfect.

I hope you will take a look at some of the other creative blogs out there...it tends to be really neat to see others perspectives.

ASAP I will write about my day as an engagement photographer!
I learned so much about myself and my abilities!!

What to take?

Some new eyeballs for ya!!!

Yesterday's pictures, today's blog.

The weather today is looking like it will be close to perfect for my shoot later.

I almost can't stand myself waiting.
I have checked all my gear, gathered all my extras, printed out consents, and arranged our final time for meeting.
Now all that is left is to leave all self doubt at home and take along all that I need and the confidence that I can do what I am setting out to do.

You could say a little prayer about that!
Hopefully I will be here tomorrow with my scavenger hunt items in tow!
Have a fantabulous day!!!

A visit to Sprint

My best buddy and I headed to the Sprint store together yesterday.

We ended up spending the better part of an hour and a half there, mostly due to our indecision!!

Our favorite sales guy was there. He has been helping us for years now, and we love to hassle, I mean intrigue him with our presence.
We were so excited to congratulate him on his marriage and his baby due early next year.

I believe in talking to people who are in customer service and making their day fun. Dealing with grouchy grumblers all day can't be easy, so I do my best to lighten the atmosphere!!

Since we were there sooooo long, and the better part of it...the only customers there. I decided to bring in my camera.
It was such a hit!!!

Especially with our guy Matt.

He was totally into the whole photography scene!!

He has a way with the lens, right???

Ahhhh ha ha. I try to tell people, if you make a crazy face when the camera is pointing at you, then don't be all freaked out when I take that picture and seal if for all time.

There is a LOT of downtime when you are trading out phones and upgrading as the information is transferred and the computer system does its required work.

Thanks Matt for making that time entertaining!!

And, thanks for giving me permission to use your pictures...though you may never ever see them!
Oh, and remember and put into practice all that good Daddy advice we gave ya; speaking from years of experience here!!

As you have guessed these are yesterdays pictures.
As you have come to expect, I will be taking more today to maintain my promise of photos every day.
I may or may not be back to post them though.
Oh and btw....
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
I have a photo shoot on Saturday evening!!!
This is the engagement session I told you about awhile back.
I am about to burst waiting for the time to get here.
My head is FILLED to the brim with images I want to capture for this couple.

If you care to, then say a little prayer for a steady hand, eyes to see beauty, stealth to capture it quickly, and focus to exact the details I want.

Later!!!

Week 34 SOOC to Wow

I am back here EARLY today because, well because I know today is gonna be another hum-dinger of a day!

I am really needing to do some adjusting in my timing on things.
Don't worry, I will get into the swing of things...eventually.
I hate to always be rushing when I am here with you, but truly if something has to give...it is gonna be this.
I know you understand, and I ♥ ya for it!!

If you stopped by on Monday then you saw my entry into the SOOC to WOW challenge for the week.
But, here it is as a reminder.

Today is the WOW part of the work on this photo.
I do hope if you have time and are interested in other photographers work you will check out some of the other entries.
For me...it is neat to see where and how a photo begins and what people choose to do with it to make it better than it was, or to just change the feel of it, or focus of it.
Of course with this challenge, the goal is to get it really good before the process to work on skill!!

As I looked at my photo, I couldn't help but be charmed by the shape that the bridge openings and reflections made. The photo became "about this" for me. I could see nothing else.
I tried to push it a bit to get those semi- semi circle oval shapes to sing a bit more.

I then decided that maybe black and white was the way to accomplish this even better.

I ached for symmetry, but the way I took the shot didn't allow it.

Hey, I have got to get.
I still have one more lunch to pack!
I promise that I will take some pics today, but I won't be back for posting.

At least I don't think I will...ha hahaha!
