Let the cat in

I was out and about today, scouting for a few places to shoot some engagement pictures for a young couple.
I couldn't pass up the chance to stop by my friend Bogan's place...knowing how lovely it is there.

He proudly informed us that he and his darling wife had just yesterday celebrated 67 years of marriage.
You couldn't help but notice the twinkle in his eye as he talked about their younger years as well as all the years that the Lord has blessed them with up 'til now.

We all settled in at the kitchen table with ice water and conversation.
Mr. Bogan got distracted at something out the back window and pointed out a cat which was walking up the sidewalk.

He then got right up from the table, greeted that cat as warmly as he greeted me and put him down on the table after a good amount of head rubbing.

He went on to tell us that this was Daisy...the neighbor's cat(!!!) who spends the day at their house!!??!!
Now mind you...they don't feed her, they just let her in to relax!
Ahhhhhh ha haha!
That is one spoiled cat!

I am one spoiled girl to have so vast an array of people to spend time with!
Happy Friday!
Boy

or girl?

Hee hee, none for me thanks!
Nice shower for a couple of girls tonight though.

One got lots of ruffles and bows, and the other stripes and other assorted manly things.

I woke at 3:57, had to at least take a look at my pictures from the party because I was too tired to do it when I got home...posted at 4:55.
Ughhh better get back to sleep.

Encouragement

I saw this on another blog on Saturday.

It hit me hard and soft all at the same time.

I want to share it, because just maybe...somehow it applies to where you are right now too.

I plan on taking photos tonight at a little gathering I am going to.
So, while I will be taking pics today, I truly don't see how I will have time to post any.
But snap I will!

Baby intensity

My foster care friends have a new baby!

Well, actually he is almost 2.
They came for a visit today and he was very curious about my camera and all of its buttons.

I love his intensity when he gets going with a specific toy.

I handed him this ball with a little frog placed in it.

That was quite a mystery to him, but he had it apart in no time flat.

Then back to intensity as he struggled to reassemble it.

Don't you just love a baby squat? How do they manage to do that for so long??

Shelby kept her eye on him the whole time...

...that is except when she had her tongue on him!

You know how she can be.

Roses and a boy.

This rosebush seems to be the only thing in my yard NOT acknowledging the drought.
You picked a good one Rach!! Isn't it lovely?

Well I wanted to take more than just the regular old shot of the roses so I got into the bed and tried to shoot from underneath.

Ahhhh ha ha ha, I ended up having to lay full out and came up covered with mulch and bitten by mosquitoes.
This one has the brick of my house as the back drop.

And this one...the sky.

Not quite sure that the results I got were worth all of that.

My middle son then let me shoot a series of him, because he loves me.

Ohhhh summer time you have gone by too quickly!

Tomorrow is today

I put off taking pictures yesterday for a variety of reasons.

Then when it came to crunch time, this was all I got!

And it was after 10.
Oh I could go on with the excuses but I won't!
See ya again "tomorrow" wink wink!

Scavenge 8/7

Alright friends here is our search and find for this week.

I have decided that Sunday is a crazy day to try to work this into my life, BUT it keeps me on my toes soooo that tends to be good for me.

Here are my prompts and interpretations.

1. Seeing Double

In this case double, double.
You will let it pass though, won't ya??

2. Whatever

Saying "Whatever" in a sassy sarcastic tone has become quite the norm among teens.
My dear friend had this whatever passage painted in an oh so cute way as a decoration for her pre-teens room.
It is the perfect way to use the word.

3. Sweet

A little girl patiently waiting for ice cream...that is pretty sweet right?
Please say yes, because my only other option is this dreadful picture in its place.

Uggghhhh, I pretty much don't like this place at all...though my kid had a blast today there at a birthday party.

4. Space

Alright, alright...I know you have already given me a wide girth of allowance this week on interpreting these prompts but you must keep on giving for that one too.
Parking SPACE...get it???

Sigh, only one more left and it can't be questioned.

5. Bright

This image doesn't do justice to all the things I really wanted to capture on my weekend getaway with my husband.
But it is bright.
Not even a minute later that sun was fully down behind the trees, what a glorious spectacle.

Click on the cute little guy below to head over to see all the other interpretations of this weeks prompts...that is where I am headed now!
